ARLO10-month-old Arlo is a Cocker Spaniel x Labrador. He is a good boy but proved too boisterous for the child in his home. He has had basic training, which he is good at. Older children maybe preferred or if younger need to bounce well.

SAMSam, 2 1/2yr Collie, failed sheepdog. Such a lovely boy, tiny for a male. Good with everything, seen cats and ignored and - fortunately or unfortunately depending how you look at it - ignores sheep. Will make a lovely family pet, but will need housetraining, lead training etc as only just lived loose on the farm.

JANUSMeet our handsome Janus, retired greyhound, rising 5yrs. Obviously no cats or small furries but he is a gentleman with humans. Walks beautifully on a loose lead.

CONNIEConnie the greyhound, just turned 4 is Janus's kennel mate. She has not been raced, a bit slow apparently. Horrid scar on her back from an injury as a pup but it doesn’t make her any the less cuddly. No cats and small furries obviously.

RANDYRandy is a 2-year-old Akita who came into Rescue with his sister Coco. He is turning out to be a lovely boy, full of fun and high jinks. He has got over his fear of strangers and if you have a treat he will love you forever. He has never lived indoors. No cats but has been OK with dogs here.

COCOCoco is a 2-year-old Akita who came into Rescue with her brother Randy. Coco was pregnant on arrival and has now had 7 pups. She has never lived indoors, never been socialised, but she is clean in her kennel, loves cuddles and is the most affectionate girl, loves a belly rub. Once her pups are weaned she will be looking for her permanent home. No cats and she will probably need to be the only dog.

NELLYBeing rehomed from home, Nelly is a 4-year-old sheepdog who loves company and will follow you around all day. Her adopter is - very reluctantly - forced to rehome her due to ill health. Her adopter says, "She is a big baby and sleeps on my bed all night. When I first had her she was very nervous and would gnarl and snap at everyone, especially men. Any sudden movement would startle her but when I used to take her for a walk she got used to people and would go to strangers for fussing, even men. She would need socialising again as I have been unable to take her for over a year due to my deteriorating health issues. She does pull on a lead and care needs to be taken when walking her on the road as she will chase cars. She hates being on her own and just loves being with someone all the time. She is so loving but would benefit from walks to keep her fit and healthy."

KATIEBeing rehomed from home, Katie is a young Border Collie, just 2 years 8 months old. Originally she came into rescue as a failed sheep dog because she was scared of sheep. Her adopter is - very reluctantly - forced to rehome her due to ill health. Her adopter says, "She just wants someone to love her and take her for walks and runs in the countryside or beach. She is not used to walking on the lead and will stubbornly sit when pulled. She desperately needs exercise as she is overweight so would benefit with living with an active family. She is a sweetheart with the kindest eyes you could get in a dog."

BEENYBeeny is a Staffy cross boy, aged about 5. An unclaimed stray from Neath pound, he's a very excitable boy in need of manners. Beeny may need a home where he can be the only pet and one with no small children. However, he is a really affectionate boy so would make a great friend for someone.

BEAUBeau is an unwanted soul who has been passed around like a parcel at a kids' party. Seems a nice girl, although a dominant bitch. Not good with cats, and needs to be the only dog. She prefers women to men and, once bonded, will guard so needs experienced home.

CHANCEChance, a 1-year-old Malinois cross, has boundless energy and is like a bull in a china shop. Will make a good obedience dog as highly food-oriented. Not for the faint-hearted or the elderly as he is a big strong boy who needs to be taught not to jump up, which he does all the time in his excitement to be with you. Good with children, dogs (but will squash small ones in play), cats (but they need to be dog savvy as once again he will squash to play), small children may have to bounce well but he is good with them. He walks beautifully on a loose lead. It would be lovely if someone into obedience would be interested, or a really active family.

SIKESAbout 1 year old, Sikes is one of a group of terrified little Poodle x pups that were abandoned in a shocking condition, obviously never had a kind hand touch them before. He is a special needs dog who will need a lot of understanding and patience and would benefit from a stable dog to follow and give confidence. UPDATE: Sikes is now in a foster home with one of his fellow pups and coming along well.

Just wants her own Mum who will take her out on nice walks and give lots of cuddles. She was adopted 2 years ago by a couple but the man has been in hospital and now he is back she will not tolerate him. She will make a loving companion in the right home.
