BARNEY BEARBarney Bear the 3-year-old Cavapoo needs an adult family that is active and will train him out of being possessive and territorial. This lad needs boundaries! When he is good he is absolutely adorable and loves cuddles and you couldn't get a nicer dog. He is fine with other dogs, not sure on cats.

OZZIEOzzie is a deaf, aged Boxer whose Dad has just passed away. He has lived with other dogs, but is a typical heavy-footed in-your-face Boxer so would need a tolerant dog to live with. He seems to have a bit of arthritis going on in his hindquarters, but that doesn't stop him being a wally, and pulls on the lead till he settles. As far as we can ascertain he wasn't lead walked, just let run. We're looking for someone to offer him a bit of comfort in his last years - a large garden and lots of cuddles are all he requires really. Not seen cats.

BLAZEBlaze is a 5-year-old Rottweiler. She is a lovely girl, but can be protective, which is controllable. She needs a home with experience of large dogs, with someone that wants a cuddle bug. This lovely girl is looking for a good permanent home, where she can give love and be loved in return.

AKITA PUPPIESWe have 7 Akita puppies ready for homing about 10th May - 5 males and 2 females. (Their parents - siblings Coco and Randy - are also in the Rescue). At 8 weeks old they will be vet checked and have their first vaccination. Adopters will need to arrange the second vaccination at 10 to 12 weeks. It is a condition of adoption that adopters have their puppy neutered at a suitable age.

COCOCoco is a 2-year-old Akita who came into Rescue with her brother Randy. She has never lived indoors, never been socialised, but she is beautifully clean in her kennel, loves cuddles and is the most affectionate girl. Needs a home with no cats and will probably need to be the only dog. She was pregnant on arrival at the Rescue and reared 7 pups. She will need to be neutered once ready.

NELLYBeing rehomed from home, Nelly is a 4-year-old sheepdog who loves company and will follow you around all day. Her adopter is - very reluctantly - forced to rehome her due to ill health. Her adopter says, "She is a big baby and sleeps on my bed all night. When I first had her she was very nervous and would gnarl and snap at everyone, especially men. Any sudden movement would startle her but when I used to take her for a walk she got used to people and would go to strangers for fussing, even men. She would need socialising again as I have been unable to take her for over a year due to my deteriorating health issues. She does pull on a lead and care needs to be taken when walking her on the road as she will chase cars. She hates being on her own and just loves being with someone all the time. She is so loving but would benefit from walks to keep her fit and healthy."

KATIEBeing rehomed from home, Katie is a young Border Collie, just 2 years 8 months old. Originally she came into rescue as a failed sheep dog because she was scared of sheep. Her adopter is - very reluctantly - forced to rehome her due to ill health. Her adopter says, "She just wants someone to love her and take her for walks and runs in the countryside or beach. She is not used to walking on the lead and will stubbornly sit when pulled. She desperately needs exercise as she is overweight so would benefit with living with an active family. She is a sweetheart with the kindest eyes you could get in a dog."

BEENYBeeny is a Staffy cross boy, aged about 5. An unclaimed stray from Neath pound, he's a very excitable boy in need of manners. Beeny may need a home where he can be the only pet and one with no small children. However, he is a really affectionate boy so would make a great friend for someone.

CHANCEChance, a 1-year-old Malinois cross, has boundless energy and is like a bull in a china shop. Will make a good obedience dog as highly food-oriented. Not for the faint-hearted or the elderly as he is a big strong boy who needs to be taught not to jump up, which he does all the time in his excitement to be with you. Good with children, dogs (but will squash small ones in play), cats (but they need to be dog savvy as once again he will squash to play), small children may have to bounce well but he is good with them. He walks beautifully on a loose lead. It would be lovely if someone into obedience would be interested, or a really active family.

About 1 year old, Sikes is one of a group of terrified little Poodle x pups that were abandoned in a shocking condition, obviously never had a kind hand touch them before. He is a special needs dog who will need a lot of understanding and patience and would benefit from a stable dog to follow and give confidence. UPDATE: Sikes is now in a foster home with one of his fellow pups. He loves to be with his foster carer, but still won't willingly accept strokes or cuddles.
